10 Best Beaches in Da Nang

My Khe Beach boasts a 32-mile stretch of white sand that’s approximately 6 km east of Da Nang. Named by the American troops who visited during the Vietnam War, it is considered to be one of Vietnam's most picturesque beaches. Hosting a number of high-end resorts and seafood restaurants, My Khe Beach is also a popular spot for sunbathing, fishing, snorkelling, jet-skiing, and surfing. Visitors can also check out World Heritage Sites such as Hoi An Ancient Town, Hue Imperial City, and Phong Nha Caves, all of which are easily accessible via taxi or bus.

Non Nuoc Beach is widely regarded as one of the most beautiful beaches in the world. Featuring soft sands, a gentle slope, clean waters and mild waves, there are plenty of things to see and do here. Popular activities include sunbathing, jet-skiing, surfing, and enjoying local seafood dishes. A 20-minute drive from Da Nang City, Non Nuoc Beach takes up 5 km of Hoa Hai Ward’s coastline, ending at the foot of Marble Mountains. You can also explore ancient pagodas, sacred caves, and handicraft villages at the mountain ranges before or after your day at the beach.

Bac My An Beach is known for housing a collection of Da Nang’s 5-star beach resorts and hotels. It spans 4 km in length and can accommodate over 5,000 beachgoers at a time. The resorts have their own private space for guests to sunbathe and enjoy outdoor activities. However, you can find public beach sites if you’re not planning to stay at a luxury resort during your holiday. There are also several mid-range hotels surrounding Bac My An Beach, as well as local restaurants serving fresh seafood at reasonable prices. Kayaking, diving, and windsurfing are some of the most popular activities among tourists here.

Thanh Binh Beach is the closest beach to Da Nang City. Its close proximity makes it a popular spot for locals to relax in the evenings and weekends. Spanning 1 km in length, it houses mostly mid-range hotels and local seafood restaurants. As with most beaches in Da Nang, you can enjoy a day of windsurfing, swimming, and yachting on Thanh Binh Beach. There are also plenty of beach chairs for rental if you want to sunbathe here. Set within Hai Chau District, the beach is a 15-minute drive from Da Nang Airport.

Lang Co Beach spans 10 km in length, between Truong Son Mountain and the southern end of Hai Van Pass. It’s one of the most hidden beaches in Da Nang as it’s mostly visited by locals and travellers attempting Hai Van Pass’s winding routes. Here, you can enjoy a day of relaxation with breathtaking views of the mountain ranges. Bach Ma National Park is 30 km west of Lang Co Beach. Nature lovers can hike through the jungle trails, spot rare wildlife, and even rappel from the top of Rhododendrun Falls.

Son Tra Peninsula is where you can find some of Da Nang’s most hidden beaches, such as Bai Bac, Tien Sa, and Con Beach. Located 12 km north of Da Nang, it’s also a natural reserve that’s home to the rare red-shanked doucs. When you’re here, make sure to visit Linh Ung Pagoda. Located on Son Tra (Monkey) Mountain, the stunning pagoda is known for its 67-metre-tall white statue of the Goddess of Mercy. Son Tra Peninsula also has a lookout point called Ban Co Peak. Do watch out for the bronze statue of Confucius, one of China’s most prominent philosophers.

Tien Sa Beach is set on the western end of the Son Tra Mountains. It mainly houses fishing villages, but its peaceful setting is a good place for escaping the crowds. You can easily make your way here by motorcycle as roads to Son Tra Peninsula are empty on most days. Part of Tien Sa Beach is owned by a hotel of the same name, so if you’re not a guest, there's a small entrance fee. After a day at the beach, make sure to visit Linh Ung Pagoda and Ban Co Peak before heading back to Da Nang City.

Nam O Beach is 17 km northwest of Da Nang City. It offers environmental boat rides to minority villages of Hoa Bac and Hoa Bang. The best time to visit Nam O Beach is from April to August. Waters are calm and clear enough for snorkelling and spotting marine life. If you’re a surfer, weather conditions are ideal between November and February. You can also find local restaurants serving mostly seafood dishes – we highly recommend goi ca, which is cured herring wrapped in rice paper, served with dipping sauce, fresh herbs and vegetables.
