The Institute of Contemporary Art is a modern art museum in the Miami Design District that shows off works from contemporary artists both local and international. When you explore the permanent collection of the Institute of Contemporary Art, you'll find quite a few iconic artists amongst the newcomers. Amongst the collection, you'll find works by Rita Ackerman, James Turrell, Ann Craven, William Copley, and Jim Hodges. The purpose of the collection is to showcase expression rather than fame, so the well-known works and works from new artists are set up together.
The rotating temporary exhibitions work similarly to the permanent collection in their presentation. At times, they'll highlight a local Miami artist, while other exhibitions will be focused on legends such as Pablo Picasso.

When you visit the Institute of Contemporary Art, there are some things you should keep in mind. Visiting this destination is a popular choice for travellers on a budget as tickets are free. You just need to reserve timed tickets in advance. Children require their own tickets as well, but they're free just like standard tickets are.
Unlike many similar museums, this museum does allow photography. There are rules, however, as you can't utilise a flash, tripod, or extension pole, but photography for personal use is encouraged. Additionally, the entire gallery is wheelchair accessible for the convenience of disabled guests.
