Denman Estate Park is a 20-acre park offering a multitude of options, from walking to bird-watching, to delight every family member. The park doubles as a little slice of heaven nestled approximately 9 miles northwest of the hustle and bustle of city centre San Antonio.
The city of San Antonio purchased almost 13 acres in 2007 from the estate of former attorney and local philanthropist Gilbert J. Denman. Another 7 acres were purchased by the University of the Incarnate Word, and in 2010, the combined grounds opened in a joint-use agreement as both a park and retreat for the university.

Highlights of Denman Estate Park
Denman Estate Park provides a myriad of activities to get out and explore the great outdoors, including bird-watching by a man-made pond that attracts a wide variety of birds or strolling the half-mile walking trail that's shaded by live-oak and cypress trees. You may even be able to spot deer in the park.
The Moon Labyrinth is a low-hedged spiraling walkway designed to inspire mediation and prayer. The park also features a beautiful pagoda built by craftsmen and artisans who travelled from San Antonio’s sister city in Gwangju, South Korea, to round out the beautiful and unique features of the Denman Estate Park.

Good to know about Denman Estate Park
The park is dog friendly, and the open grassy area at the south end of the park is a great place to play with your furry friend. There is no playground, so be sure to bring games to play or kites to fly. Bring a blanket or plan on snagging a table for a picnic. The trails are accessible for wheelchairs.
The Historic Denman Mansion, constructed in 1936 by Gilbert Denman, Sr., is an event venue with a view of the city centre San Antonio skyline from the second-story balcony that can be reserved. The park also offers many unique and beautiful photo ops.
