Gangneung Forest Love Information Hall was created to inform people about the importance of forests and the dangers of forest fires. Korea’s eastern coast is lined with pine trees that are prone to fires due to their old age, so wildfires often occur in dry seasons.

There were tremendous forest fires in the past that threatened the nearby Sokcho city center. You can even see part of a damaged forest that’s been restored. It’s a nice educational spot for families with children.
