De Bijenkorf is a renowned Dutch department store chain that is committed to the world of fashion and high-end international luxury brands. The original store was established in 1870 by Simon Philip Goudsmit as a small haberdashery shop in one of Amsterdam’s original streets.
The shop expanded, and the flagship store was eventually built in Dam Square, with other stores constructed soon after in Rotterdam and The Hague. The owners of De Bijenkorf also own several other stores in other countries, such as Selfridges in Britain. De Bijenkorf is also a member of the International Association of Department Stores.

Shoppers who are not EU residents are eligible for tax refunds on purchases over 50 Euros every day, and De Bijenkorf has the only instant tax refund service in the Netherlands. De Bijenkorf also allows for payment in many different currencies, along with accepting every major credit card.
