Bias Tugel Beach is a small bay with a 130-metre stretch of white sand just south of the busy Padangbai Harbour in East Bali. It offers a tranquil scene, made possible by a long and narrow headland that obscures it from the hubbub of the nearby port.
You can easily reach the beach via a short trek past the cape from the main road. A beautiful seascape with calm blue waves, rock pools and golden sand with streaks of volcanic black awaits. You’ll also find local vendors selling snacks, cold beers and parasols along this stretch of the coast.

Things to see and do at Bias Tugel Beach
Above the opposite headland, on Bias Tugel Beach’s southern end, you can make out what remains of a hotel project that was abandoned halfway into its development. This forsaken site serves as an extra feature of interest if you’re curious and up for some urban exploration.
You can also rent snorkels and fins from some of the local vendors that provide such gear and enjoy some great swimming and snorkelling. Bias Tugel Beach’s far eastern end are the most popular spots for this and where you can find most of the rock pools and reef formations. Note that currents can be strong further out and there are no lifeguards on duty.
