Tourmalet has, in addition to its famous mountain pass, an impressive winter sports resort. With a total of 69 slopes spanning 100 km, you can enjoy downhill and cross-country skiing, snowshoeing or even take part in fast-paced dog sled racing.
The largest ski area in the French Pyrenees peaks at an altitude of 2,500 metres and is connected to the villages of Barèges and La Mongie. Cauterets is renowned for its optimal snow cover. It's often the first resort to open for the ski season and the last to close. Divided into 2 areas, each with its own character, the resort is a veritable paradise for skiers who appreciate enchanting landscapes.
This small resort offers 29 slopes across a total of 36 km – 5 of which are reserved for cross-country skiing – and manages to provide a large range of activities across that area.
