Champ de Mars is a large park space located at the foot of the Eiffel Tower. The landscaped gardens and huge lawn of Champ de Mars were originally a parade ground for the Military Academy (École Militaire), but is now one of the most famous picnic locations in the city.
Being as close as you can get, Champ de Mars is always crowded with locals and tourists taking photos of the Eiffel Tower. There’s plenty of space to spread out and find an interesting angle. It’s also a popular place to visit at night to witness the tower in lights. In spring, you can also find cherry blossoms around the lawn, making the view even more unique.

A Seine river cruise is one of the most popular activities in Paris. It’s also one of the best ways to see the Eiffel Tower. As the Seine carves through the city, it closely passes the tower, separating the Champ de Mars from the Jardins du Trocadero. Open-top cruises are best for taking photos, especially in the warmer months. Rue Saint-Dominique is a bustling street in the 7th arrondissement of Paris. It offers one of the best street views of the Eiffel Tower as the street approaches the Champ de Mars. If you walk towards the tower, it peeks out over the top of the cafes, boutiques, and bars that line the narrow street.
The best viewing spot is close to the end, at the corner of Rue Saint-Dominique and Boulevard de la Tour-Maubourg. It’s a classic Parisian street photography spot, just make sure that you’re not blocking the road or footpath in pursuit of the perfect shot.

Jardins du Trocadéro is a public park located directly across the Seine from the Eiffel Tower. The Pont d’lena bridge connects the park with the Champ de Mars. Trocadéro is characterised by the incredible fountains and landscaped gardens that offer a perfect foreground for a view of the Eiffel Tower.
Head down the steps of the Palais de Chaillot towards the fountains, and you’ll get a full view of the Eiffel Tower. The fountains and water features offer a unique reflection when taking a photo at the right angle. It’s a popular spot to visit at night to see the lights of the city.

You can climb 284 stairs to the top of the observation deck or take an elevator to the mid-level and walk the rest of the steps. Pont de Bir-Hakeim is a 2-level bridge built in the early 20th century. Crossing the Seine just south of the Eiffel Tower and Champ de Mars, the bridge is used by the city subway, motor vehicles, and pedestrians.
Walking across the bridge, you’ll be able to enjoy great views of the Eiffel Tower over the river. The bridge has a unique design with steel columns making for interesting photos and foregrounds. It’s most famous for appearing in Hollywood films, including Inception, so it’s often bustling with tourists hoping to relive famous scenes.

Square Rapp

Square Rapp is a little square tucked between 33 and 37 Avenue Rapp in Paris. This little-known oasis is dominated by distinct Haussmann-style buildings, making it a quintessential Parisian scene. There is a small gated private garden where you’ll be able to look back and see one of the best street views of the Eiffel Tower as it peeks out above the buildings at the entrance to the square.
The buildings are privately owned, so it’s important to respect people’s privacy when taking photos. However, you’ll likely find that Square Rapp is much quieter than other street photography spots in the city.

The Basilica du Sacré Coeur is an incredible architectural masterpiece in Paris. Sitting atop a hill in the Montmartre district of Paris, the white-domed basilica was built in the 19th century. You can look across the city towards the Eiffel Tower from the basilica's steps and outdoor terraces.
However, an even more impressive perspective can be enjoyed from the top of the church dome, especially on the right-hand side of the viewing area. Entry fees apply, and you have to climb about 300 steps for the view.

Rue de L’Université

Rue de L’Université is a long street in the 7th arrondissement of Paris. The well-known cobbled street is particularly picturesque with typical Haussmann architecture, filled with cafes, restaurants, and quaint stores. Towards the western end of the street where it comes to an end is where the best street views can be admired.
Early in the morning is most ideal, as this will be when there’s less traffic parked on the street. You’ll get a nice view of the Eiffel Tower as it’s framed by the buildings and trees at the end of Rue de L’Université. Be prepared for lots of people later in the day trying to get their photo.
