Walsall Arboretum is a public park in the Walsall Town Centre and offers a rural escape in the heart of town that dates to the Victorian era. The park even today offers Victorian charm and has been a local landmark since 1874. It was built on a former estate for the public good.
During World War I, the park was used as a potato and timber resource for the War Agricultural Committee. During World War II, the lake was benchmarked as a source of water for fighting fires after bombing raids. Today, it's used for sporting and leisure activities.
